What Basis is
Basis is a website that reads public blockchain and venue data and prepares transactions and orders. It runs on Robinhood Chain.
Basis cannot reverse a transaction once it is on chain.
How a transaction or order is authorised
Nothing is sent without an authority you gave, in one of four forms, and only the first asks your wallet at the moment of sending.
Direct: your wallet signs the transaction or message when it is sent. This includes orders armed with a permit or an exact approval, which remove the approval step but not the signature that sends the order. Basis's curve router spends a permit only in a transaction sent by the wallet that signed it.
Signed in advance: for a limit or take-profit sell only, you may sign the whole transaction when you arm it. It is kept in this browser, not on Basis's servers. This browser can send it without another prompt when the price is reached. Anyone who obtains the signed transaction can try to broadcast it without another prompt, but it can fill only at or above the minimum it was signed with. Stop-loss orders and repeated buys are never signed in advance.
Browser trading key: for perpetuals, you register a key that is created and kept in this browser, and it signs orders on that venue without a wallet prompt until it expires or is removed, here or at the venue.
Delegated signer: where Basis offers Enable trading or orders that fill with the tab closed, you authorise a signer held by Privy, and Basis's server asks it to sign trades within the limits you set, until the authorisation expires or you revoke it.
If you connect your own wallet, its keys stay in that wallet and Basis does not receive them. If you create a Basis wallet, it is generated and held through Privy, a third-party wallet provider, and you can export its recovery phrase.
Fees
Swaps routed through 0x carry a Basis fee of 1%, taken in the token you sell and shown in the quote before you sign.
Stock Token trades carry a flat Basis fee of 1%.
Perpetuals orders carry a Basis fee of 0.01% on Lighter, only after you authorise it, and 0.01% on Hyperliquid, only after you approve it.
A wallet that arrives through a referral link pays 10% less Basis fee where the referral program applies.
Basis charges no fee on Earn deposits or withdrawals.
Networks, venues, routers and token contracts charge their own fees and taxes, which are not Basis's and may not all be shown.
What is available
On this deployment today, Stock Token trading is switched off, perpetuals order entry is switched off, and bonding-curve trading through Basis's router is switched off.
Basis applies location rules, read from the network request, and wallet-address sanctions checks to supported trading paths. Stock Token actions are offered only from the 30 European Economic Area countries the issuer's prospectus names and are refused everywhere else, including the United States. Perpetuals actions are refused from a list of jurisdictions Basis applies to each venue.
Basis relays no withdrawal from a perpetuals venue. Withdrawals are made at the venue itself.
Data sources and risks
Prices, charts, safety checks, labels and figures describe what Basis could read, when it read it. A check that could not run is shown as unknown, not as a pass. Nothing on Basis says a token is safe or that a route is the best one.
On-chain token and trade data, venue account and market data, third-party reference prices, and security-provider answers are different sources. A reference or chart price is not a firm executable quote. For a swap, check the amount, route, fees and minimum received in the transaction preview before signing.
A displayed value or yield can change or become unavailable. Earn vaults can lose value or lack immediate withdrawal liquidity. Perpetuals can be liquidated and incur funding and venue charges. A transaction with an unknown result must be checked in the wallet or on chain before it is sent again.
Nothing on Basis is investment, legal or tax advice.
